It's back in February hopefully

Let's have a public jamboree about what we'd like to see in the new game here.

Oh, and is PolUK down for you as well Cuddlechops?

It was down earlier today, yes. Quite a scare. Confused

Anyway, excellent news! I really liked this game - I'll certainly be back for round 2.

Personally, I think you should have less FA's. Or revamp the entire system - for example, have players all be on the same Board. Either way, I think you should find a way to give players more instant gratification, if you know what I mean. One way to do this is have more editorials on players - singling them out for praise or criticism. You could of course change game mechanics to accommodate the need for instant gratification, too.

The idea of reducing the number of boards has been pretty much agreed on by me and the Hipmeister. Two would be a good number, as it encourages a direct competition.

And we tried to make Editorials about players a feature of this round (See the editoirals about Dupont in the French and English newspapers) - But we just lacked enough active players to make these editorials on a regular basis.

Indeed - it's a two way street. You can't write editorials about players if they're not doing anything.

Have an idea of the competitions you'll be simming then? England, I presume, but I have no clue about the other.

Maybe you should think about punishments, too. For example, if England performed bad, their best defender could miss a doping test and be banned from playing for a year. Wink

Tee Hee. We tried to make the punishments as fair as possible - Why else do you think that France and England became rubbish as soon as their board members became inactive? Mr. Green

England would be a standard FA in the new game, the other FA would be an interesting choice though. Any thoughts?

Also, what time period? We had bandied about the end of Euro 2000 as a potential starting point.

Well, the most obvious choice would be either Spain or Italy. Yet I personally would prefer Germany - which two nations are bigger concurrents than zhe zhjermans and the english?

I think the starting point should definately be post-2000. People want to see names of players they remember. Razz

Who can't remember the genius known as Ibrahima Ba eh? Razz

You raise an interesting point about the Germany/England rivalry, well worth looking into.

Perhaps - though I'm far from sure about this myself - you could have some more 'positions' within the board. You know how people are. They just luuuuuve power.

Good questions. I'd have to check what positions the FA's have IRL.

English FA: President, Chairman, Secretary and Cheif Executive. God only knows what they do though.
